Is MediaPitch a PR / press-release service or a startup-pitch platform — and can I pay to have a news article published?
No. MediaPitch is an independent news publication, not a public relations agency, press-release distribution service, or startup-pitch platform. We do not accept payment in exchange for editorial coverage, "sponsored" news articles, or guaranteed placement of promotional material in our news sections. Our journalists evaluate story ideas on journalistic merit — public interest, verifiability, and newsworthiness — regardless of who submits them. Organisations and individuals may contact us with information, but providing a tip or press enquiry does not entitle anyone to publication. Advertising on our site is clearly labelled and physically separated from editorial content. If you are seeking paid media placement, you will need to contact an advertising or PR agency; that is not a service we offer.

How do I submit a news tip?
Use our contact form and select "News tip / story lead" as the subject. Include as much verifiable detail as possible: names, dates, locations, document references, and contact information for sources we can reach independently. We protect confidential sources where appropriate, but tips with no corroborating pathway are difficult to pursue. We cannot guarantee every tip will become a published story.
-
How do I request a correction?
Select "Correction request" on the contact form and specify the article, the passage in question, and the correct information with supporting evidence where available. Our corrections desk reviews all requests and publishes amendments with a transparent note explaining what changed. Frivolous or bad-faith correction requests may not receive a response.
-
What does membership include?
MediaPitch membership starts from S$8/month and includes our weekly briefing email, early access to selected investigations, and an ad-light reading experience. Membership supports original reporting; it does not grant editorial influence or priority placement of story ideas. Public-interest coverage remains accessible without a paywall.
-
Do you accept guest articles or op-eds?
We publish opinion pieces sparingly and only when the author has demonstrated expertise on the subject. Op-eds are clearly labelled as opinion and undergo the same fact-checking as news articles for verifiable claims. We do not publish ghost-written corporate advocacy. Unsolicited submissions may not receive a response due to volume.
-
How is MediaPitch funded?
Revenue comes from reader membership, clearly labelled display advertising, and occasional grants for investigative projects where funders have no editorial input. No single advertiser or donor may exceed 15 per cent of total revenue. We publish an annual transparency statement summarising our funding sources.

How do you handle personal data?
